Gutters are the last step in your roof’s drainage system. All the rain that lands on the roof has to go somewhere. Without working gutters and downspouts, it spills over the edge, soaks the fascia boards, splashes against the siding and collects next to the foundation.
Small gutter problems cause bigger ones. A clogged or sagging run can back water up under the first row of shingles and rot the roof deck along the eave. Overflow near the house can wash out landscaping, wet a basement or crawl space, and freeze into ice along the roof edge in winter.
Because we are roofers first, we treat gutters as part of the roof. When we work on gutters, we also check the drip edge (the metal strip that guides water off the roof edge), the fascia and the soffit, and we size and pitch new gutters and downspouts for the amount of water your roof sheds.

Seamless aluminum gutters
Formed from one continuous piece for each run, so the only seams are at corners and ends. Aluminum does not rust and comes in many colors.

Downspouts and extensions
Downspouts sized for the roof area they drain, with extensions or splash blocks that carry water clear of the foundation.

Gutter guards
Screens, micro-mesh and solid covers that cut down on clogs. Mesh stops fine debris but still needs an occasional rinse.

Aluminum fascia wrap
Bent aluminum trim fitted over solid wood fascia boards to shield them from water, so they no longer need repainting.

Vinyl and aluminum soffit
Solid or vented panels under the roof overhang. Vented soffit lets fresh air into the attic as part of roof ventilation.

We look at your gutters, downspouts, fascia, soffit and drip edge, and note where water overflows or collects around the house.

Photos and estimate
You get photos, a plain explanation of what needs repair or replacement, and a free estimate.

Fix the fascia and soffit first
Rotted boards are replaced before new gutters go up, so the hangers fasten into solid wood.

Install gutters and downspouts
Gutters are hung with a slight pitch toward each downspout, and downspouts and extensions go where water can drain away from the house.

Check and clean up
We check each run for leaks and flow, haul away the old gutters and clean up the work area.

What to know around Baltimore

Heavy fall leaves
Oaks, maples and other mature trees are common across Pikesville, Owings Mills and much of Baltimore County, so gutters fill up every autumn. Guards and well-placed downspouts help.

Gutter, soffit & fascia questions
What is a seamless gutter?
A seamless gutter is made from one continuous piece of aluminum for each run, so there are no joints along its length to leak. Seams are only needed at corners and end caps.
Do gutter guards mean I never have to clean my gutters?
No gutter guard is maintenance-free. Guards cut down on clogs from leaves and seeds, but fine debris and shingle granules can still build up and need an occasional cleaning.
Why does water spill over my gutters when it rains?
The usual causes are clogs, gutters that have lost their pitch, too few downspouts, or gutters too small for the roof. We find the cause before recommending a fix.
What are soffit and fascia?
Fascia is the board along the roof edge that your gutters attach to. Soffit is the panel on the underside of the roof overhang, and vented soffit lets air into the attic.
Can you replace gutters without replacing my roof?
Yes. We replace gutters on their own and check the roof edge while we are there. If a new roof is coming soon, doing both together avoids taking gutters down and rehanging them twice.
